General Exception in Aligned Elements Word Add-In after inserting, updating or synching Document Objects
When inserting/synching/updating Document objects in the Aligned Word Add-In, a red "General Exception" message is displayed.
Known Reasons
1. The Word Document contains/is saved with embedded fonts.
The Aligned Elements Word Add-In currently does not support inserting/updating/synching Document objects in target Word documents that are saved with embedded fonts.
To inspect the target word document and remove the embedded fonts, In MS Word click File => Options => Save => Deselect the option "Embed fonts in the File" and save the document.
2. The Word Document contains Word Comments and/or redlines made with "Track Changes" and/or "Track Changes" is active in the document.
The Aligned Elements Word Add-In currently does not support inserting/updating/synching Document objects in target Word documents that contains Word Comments and or redlines made with Track Changes.
To fix this,
1) Delete all comments from the word document.
2) Resolve all track changes (Accept or Decline) and switch off the Track Changes feature.
3. The Word Document contains the Word feature "Signature Lines"
The Aligned Elements Word Add-In currently does not support inserting/updating/synching Document objects in target Word documents that contains one or more instances of the Word Feature "Signature Line".
To remove the Signature Lines from the Word document, locate them in the Word Document and delete them.
